Locums to Perm OB/GYN HospitalistLocation: Des Moines, IowaFacility: MercyOne Des Moines Medical CenterStart Date: January 1, 2026Licensure: Active IA license or IMLC accepted (LOQ required at time of name clear)Position Overview

Type: Locums to Perm
Schedule: 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 AM)
Shifts per Month: 6.5
Call: 24/7 in-house
Setting: Inpatient only (No telehealth)
EMR: Epic
Supervision: No APP supervision required
Exam Rooms: 8-bed OBED

Clinical Volume & Support

OBED Volume: 1,389 visits/year
Deliveries: Approx. 463/year from OBED
Specialized Support:
- Onsite medical imaging
- Onsite lab and pharmacy
- Only maternity transport team in Iowa

Job Responsibilities

Manage OBED and emergent OB patients
Vaginal deliveries and C-sections
Care for unassigned OB patients
Handle OB emergencies and maternity transports

Credentialing Requirements

Board Certification: Required (will accept truly Board Eligible)
Licensure:
- Active Iowa license OR
- IMLC license (must submit LOQ with name clear)
DEA: Required

Pay Rate
