Locum Internal Medicine Physician (Geriatrics Focus) San Mateo, CaliforniaAssignment Overview

Start Date: ASAP must be able to start within 46 weeks
Contract Length: 3 months with option to extend (coverage needed while recruiting permanent staff)
Schedule:
- 4 days/week
- 8:30 AM 5:00 PM
Setting: Outpatient clinic exclusively serving geriatric patients (60+)
Patient Volume: ~14 patients/day

Patient Demographics

100% Medical/Medicaid population
High-complexity cases; mostly patients in their 80s/90s
Diverse language backgrounds (bilingual in Spanish highly preferred)
Extensive support staff (RNs, clinicians, etc.)

Clinical Requirements

Procedures:
- Pap smears
- Basic STD diagnosis
Experience:
- 2+ years outpatient experience
- EPIC proficiency required
- No hospital experience necessary

Licensure & Certifications

Active CA License Required
DEA & BLS Required

Board Requirements

Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Required
Geriatric Board Certified Preferred but not required
Board Eligible May be considered case by case (no inactive/long-out-of-practice candidates)

Additional Notes

Emergency privileges available
Clinic is part of a well-supported FQHC system focused on optimizing care for seniors
Strong interest or background in Geriatrics is essential
