Job Summary
The Registered Nurse ' NICU will provide specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The RN will monitor patients closely, administer medications and treatments, collaborate with neonatologists and the healthcare team, and support families while ensuring safe, high-quality neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill, premature, and high-risk newborns.
- Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, cardiac status, oxygen levels, and other clinical conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, fluids, and treatments as ordered.
- Operate and monitor neonatal equipment, including incubators, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
- Assess patient conditions and promptly report changes to physicians and the healthcare team.
- Assist with procedures and emergency interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and medical records.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate and support parents and families regarding the newborn's condition and plan of care.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and NICU protocols.
- Respond effectively to neonatal emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate care to newborns and their families.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment and care plans.
- Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
Requirements
- Active RN license for the job state
- NICU experience
- BLS
- Relevant neonatal certifications/credentials as required by the facility
- Updated resume
- Recent professional references
- COVID Vaccination Proof
- Driver's license
