DUTIES: - Provide an advanced level of specialized nursing care to critically-ill pediatric patients recovering from major surgery or are characterized by the presence of real or potentially life-threatening health problems. - Perform various pulmonary ventilation treatments, such as administration of oxygen and compressed air through various means, administration of respiratory therapy treatments, etc. Provide care for a mechanically ventilated patient. - Assess patients' cardiac output, vital signs, peripheral perfusion, level of consciousness, and evaluate blood gas results of arterial and mixed venous oxygen saturation. - Implement proper emergency measures after identifying and interpreting life-threatening conditions. - Administer special medications via oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, etc. (including intravenous push) routes. Perform proper titration of IV drips to include sedatives, vasopressors, etc. - Maintain invasive lines and dressings, and discontinue invasive lines as prescribed by Infection Control policies, procedures and guidelines. - Performs other duties as assigned.
