Locums Pediatric Radiologist Long Beach, CAAssignment OverviewFacility: Womens & Childrens Hospital Long Beach, CAStart Date: December 22, 2025End Date: December 31, 2025Option to continue PRN coverage after these datesShift: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM (9-hour day shift)Setting: Inpatient hospital environmentCoverage Type: Covering an absence or vacancy; may include weekend shift assistanceEMR: Epic (Inpatient)Availability and Call RequirementsOnsite Coverage:
  • Dates: December 2231, 2025
  • Hours: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
Weekend Call (Saturday/Sunday 8:00 AM 8:00 AM):
  • Responsible for all pediatric inpatient and ER studies between 8:00 AM6:00 PM
  • Case mix: approximately 85% plain films, 15% ultrasound, CT, and MR (no nuclear medicine)
  • Average workload: 6080 studies per day
  • Available for questions from technologists and review of outside studies
  • Performs urgent pediatric fluoroscopic procedures (non-interventional)
  • After 6:00 PM, covers inpatient film consults until StatRad takes over at 11:00 PM
  • May occasionally read ER studies late at night or be called in for procedures
Weeknight Call (8:00 PM 6:00 AM):
  • Responsible for inpatient film consults between 8:00 PM11:00 PM
  • Available for emergent fluoroscopic procedures overnight
Licenses and Certifications (Must Haves)
  • Double board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Pediatric Radiology
  • Active, unrestricted California medical license
  • DEA license required
  • BLS or ACLS certification required
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited three-year Diagnostic Radiology residency
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology (required)
  • Epic (Inpatient) experience required
  • Minimum one year of experience; three or more years preferred
