Duties & Volume

Support Staff

Licensure & Certification Requirements

Board Certification:
- American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or
- American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG)
- Board Eligible accepted if within 5 years of residency completion
Licensure:
- Active California medical license required
- DEA required
Procedural Requirements:
- Must have completed an ACGME- or AOA-accredited OB/GYN residency
- Minimum 100 gynecologic surgical procedures in past 2 years or recent residency/fellowship
- Documentation of competence in specific OB/GYN procedures
- Completion of approved training for special procedures, where applicable

Proctoring Requirements

OB Proctoring:
- First 2 non-emergency deliveries (2 observers if possible)
- 1 C-section observed if C-section privileges granted
GYN Proctoring:
- First 3 cases including:
  - 1 hysteroscopy
  - 1 operative laparoscopy
  - 1 open laparotomy
Retrospective chart review: Minimum 3 months
