Job Description

Great group in New Orleans seeking full time, permanent Primary Care Nurse Practitioners to join their team. Bilingual English, Spanish/Vietnamese preferred. The office hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with Saturday rotation with the option of working two Saturday's a year from 8am - 12pm. They might consider part time, but prefer full time, EMR is Athena, average people per day is 15-18. Offering great salary, and sign on bonus, possible relocation assistance, health, vision and dental insurance, 403b with match after 1 year, Aflac available (facility pays for all administrative costs), PTO, CME time and allowance, license reimbursement, Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) malpractice insurance, and NHSC loan repayment. They utilize a call service so the call schedule is light, just by phone, no hospital time and is on rotation.

Some responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting physical examinations and medical assessments
  • Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses and injuries
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and laboratory results
  • Prescribing medications and other treatments
  • Educating patients and their families about health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care strategies
  • Referring patients to specialists or other healthcare professionals as needed
  • Managing and coordinating care with other healthcare team members
  • Maintaining accurate and complete patient records
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Participating in quality improvement activities and initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Current registration in the State of Louisiana as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurse's Credentialing Center.
  • A Master of Science degree in Nursing from a program accredited by the American Nurse's Association of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
  • Must possess excellent clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and communication skills to effectively manage patient care.
  • Must also adhere to legal and ethical standards of practice and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Clinical experience in community health a plus
  • Up to date on all continuing education
