- Serves in a multi-role (scrub; monitor; circulator; instructor; equipment, supply and budget) capacity as a Cardiovascular Medical Instrument Technician. - Identifies and selects patient/procedure-specific catheters, supplies, equipment, contrast medium, and volume to meet the requirements of the procedure. - Sets up sterile field. Monitors and ensures compliance with aseptic technique and radiation safety principles. - Responsible for required daily maintenance and preventive maintenance of cine processing equipment. - Notifies the operating cardiologists of the procedure status, the current patient condition, and other vital information that may affect the procedure. - Operates defibrillator and pacemaker generator as well as radiographic contrast injector, cardiac output, intravascular ultrasound, angiojet, rotablator, pressure wire, and intra-aortic balloon pump consoles. - Applies noninvasive cardiovascular techniques of electrocardiography (12-lead ECG) and assists with synchronized cardioversion and transcutaneous pacing. - Operates an interactive computerized digital subtraction angiographic system in order to produce coronary and left ventricular graphic images, and to perform pulmonary, aortic, and peripheral arterial imaging. - Ensures that the lab has adequate supplies for all procedures performed. - Performs Other Duties as Assigned
