As a Nurse (Clinical) you will: - Performs as the Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Maternal Child Health Section, serving as the subject matter expert for inpatient services in the women's health arena. - Provides care directly by teaching and providing direct nursing care or indirectly through recommendations for care to the primarily nurse/other health professional. - Participates in discharge planning teams, clinical pathway development and implementation. - Serves as a member of multiple interdisciplinary teams/committees (internally and externally) in the conduct of performance improvement, patient safety, risk management, and accreditation activities. - Serves as a resource person to a wide variety of professional health colleagues regarding nursing practice. - Assists nursing personnel to achieve greater effectiveness in the nursing process by means of scheduled ward in-services, patient care conferences, and assisting in the development of nursing care plans. - Supports and facilitates the implementation and compliance to standards established for performance improvement, patient safety, care management, utilization management, and credentialing.
