MAJOR DUTIES: - Assign and adjust patient care duties in accordance with staff expertise and scope of practice, patient condition and acuity, and changing needs of patient, family and unit. - Provide nursing care to low and high-risk obstetrical patients and their newborn infants. - Make nursing care assignment and provide work direction and technical guidance to nonprofessional personnel. - Administer oxygen, IV fluids, electrolyte solutions, blood and blood product, prescribe medication, and treatment following the five rights for administering medications. - Perform/assist with invasive/non-invasive procedures to include collection of laboratory specimens and other samples as required. - Document nursing process, patient status, care and services. .Performs other duties as assigned.
