Job Description
A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a new, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Apheresis team at one of their Manhattan facilities. In this role, the Apheresis Nurse (RN) will be responsible for performing all aspects of therapeutic apheresis procedures on both the Adult and Pediatric populations in a mobile setting.
Responsibilities:
The Apheresis Nurse (RN) will:- Perform all therapeutic apheresis procedures independently by identifying required criteria, obtaining consent, performing patient physical assessment and documentation
- Provids care and follow-up instructions related to access and reports any abnormal findings to appropriate personnel
- Administer blood products and medications during procedures per Physicians orders, calculating and reconstitution of medication related to procedures
- Operate equipment related to performing procedure and troubleshoot alarms and reports abnormal findings
- Maintain inventory of mobiles, reports supply needs and assists with on-site par levels
- Scan in work hours using the current Time Keeping System, completes monthly expense reports accurately and in a timely manner as per departmental policy
- Complete all required forms / electronic record
- Perform other duties, as needed
- 5+ years of Clinical experience in an Emergency, Medical-Surgical, and/or Telemetry setting with an Associate's Degree in Nursing; or, 3+ years of Clinical experience in an Emergency, Medical-Surgical, and/or Telemetry setting with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in NYS, NJ or CT
- BCLS certification
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
