Physician Pay’s Fastest Growth Path Is Now Administrative
Medical group executive pay rose 7.9% to 9.6% in 2026 while 17 of 30 specialties lost ground to inflation — the same employers, the same year, two opposite pay curves. wRVU efficiency cuts, specialty-level inflation erosion and proposed 2027 Medicare reductions are flattening the clinical production ladder just as administrative roles post double-digit gains and a $172,000 MD premium.
