Locums Richmond, Virginia, Thoracic Surgery Opening

Dates Needed: (24-hour Call)

• January 16 starting at 5:00 p.m. January 19 ending at 7:00 a.m. February 6 starting at 5:00 p.m. February 9 ending at 7:00 a.m.Additional dates through 2026 as schedules are finalized

Reason for Coverage:

• Backup thoracic team (currently 2 providers)

Practice Setting & Schedule:

• Hospital-based, acute care focus

• Call as needed

Patient Volume & Facility Info:

• Average cases per day: 23

• Number of ORs: 21

• Hemodialysis access available

• Patient demographic: Adult and Geriatric

• Documentation System/EMR: EPIC

• Ancillary staff: OR support, ICU support, Hospitalist

Procedures Required:

• Bronchoscopy

• Robot-Assisted Thoracic Surgery

• Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS)

• Navigational Bronchoscopy

• Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)

• Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)

• Tube Thoracostomy

• Tracheostomy

• Pericardial Window

• Thoracic aortic aneurysms

• Mediastinoscopy

• Segmentectomy, Lobectomy, BI Lobectomy, Pneumonectomy

• Thoracotomy, Decortication

Additional Preferred Procedures / Areas of Care:

• Achalasia / Advanced Lung Disease (COPD, Pulmonary Fibrosis)

• Anti-Reflux Surgery / GERD

• Barretts Esophagitis / Chest Wall Tumors & Reconstruction

• Diaphragm Plication / Diaphragmatic Hernias

• Dysphagia / Esophageal Cancer

• Lung Cancer / Lung Nodules

• Mediastinal Masses / Mesothelioma

• Pleural Effusion / Pneumothorax

• Rib Fractures and Plating

• Thoracic Outlet Syndrome / Thymomas

• Tracheal Stenosis / Tracheostomy

Requirements:

• Board Certified - Required

• Active VA License (no exceptions) - Required

• BLS, ACLS - Required

• Provider must be local - Required
