Locums Radiologist Elk Grove Village, IllinoisAvailability
  • Start Date: May 18, 2026
  • Coverage Type: Scheduled only; no call
  • Shifts Available: Day, Swing, Night, Weekend
  • Night Shift Example:
    • 5 nights per week
    • 8-hour shifts
    • 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (flexible)
  • Block Scheduling: Not available
Practice Setting
  • Facility Type: Imaging Center
  • Modalities: Radiology, Ultrasound, Sonography, X-Ray
  • On-Site Candidates: Considered
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Radiology Volume:
    • Approximately 34 diagnostic reads per day
    • Primarily plain film
    • Efficiency goal: 7080 reads per 8-hour shift
  • Required Skills:
    • Ability to read CTP stroke protocol
    • MRI Abdomen required for emergent OB cases
  • Preferred but Not Required:
    • MRI Joint for independent overnight reading
  • Additional Clinical Notes:
    • Cardiac ultrasound studies are read by cardiologists
    • On-site providers may perform light interventional radiology
Turnaround Time Expectations
  • Stroke alerts: 20 minutes
  • ED STAT: 3060 minutes
  • Inpatient STAT: 60 minutes
  • Critical results: communicated within 60 minutes
  • Inpatient final read: < 4 hours
  • Outpatient final read: < 6 hours
Technology
  • PACS: GE

  • MRI competency is important for overnight and emergent coverage
