Job Description

A reputable expanding Health System in southwestern Connecticut is adding a full-time Pathologist to join its team of 24 pathologists with a broad range of expertise and extensive clinical experience.

About the opportunity:

  • Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology required
  • Candidates with subspecialty training in Breast and GYN pathology are encouraged to apply
  • Board certification or eligibility in other subspecialties such as cytopathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology, and neuropathologyis a plus
  • Testing volume across the system is over 4 million test results per year (inclusive of approximately 50,000 surgical pathology cases)
  • Pathology residency program and PA students from Quinnipiac University We are a teaching affiliate of the University of Vermont, which confers ranked academic appointments
  • Growing cancer institute that brings interesting and varied cases

Compensation package:

  • Employed position with a market rate base salary + incentives
  • Benefits package including paid time off, CME allowance with time off, and 401k with match

  • 366-bed not-for-profit Hospital with a Level II Trauma Center.
  • Accredited as a stroke center and certified to provide emergency angioplasty for cardiac patients.
  • Associated with Yale University School of Medicine,the University of Vermont College of Medicine, the American University of the Caribbean, and Ross University School of Medicine
  • Part of a large health system including more than 2600 physicians, 7 hospitals, and a large network of primary care and specialty practices serving 1.5 million residents across New York and Connecticut

Located 50 miles from New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CTalong the Long Island Sound. Surrounded by a number of quaint towns, this beautiful suburban location boasts excellent housing and school systems. It offers a wide array of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. It has abundant local historical, cultural, educational, and recreational attractions. Boston, New York City, New Haven, and Hartford are easily accessible via train or car.
