Community Medical and Dental
Care Inc. is seeking a part-time
vision therapist to join our expanding team. We are a group of dedicated
professionals who are committed to improving people's health and quality of
life.
As a vision therapist, you will have the
opportunity to provide treatment to patients with a variety of visual
impairments. You will also work with patients to improve their eye tracking, focusing, and
visual perception abilities to improve their daily living skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing
and implementing rehabilitation plans for patients with amblyopia.
- Using a
variety of techniques to help patients improve their visual acuity, eye
alignment, and binocular vision.
- Working
with patients to improve their eye tracking, focusing, and visual
perception skills.
- Recommending
and obtaining low-vision devices and adaptive mobility aids.
- Monitoring
patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborating
with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for
patients with visual impairments.
- Participating
in professional development activities to stay up to date on the latest
treatment techniques.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong patient care skills.
- Excellent listening skills and an understanding of the challenges facing the visually impaired.
- Strong understanding of the causes and impacts of visual impairment.
Education and Experience
- Master's degree required; PA, NP, MD, or PhD preferred.
- Five or more years of related experience required.
