Job Description

UPMC North Central Pa. is seeking a full-time OBGYN to join our established team of two physicians and one certified nurse midwife Coudersport Pennsylvania. UPMC Cole is a modern, progressive 25-bed critical access hospital located on a large, well-maintained campus with a service area covering 55,000 people living in six counties in North Central Pennsylvania and Western New York. UPMC Cole owns and operates eleven primary care, eighteen specialty medical practices and two dental clinics, located in Coudersport and the counties that surround the hospital.

The 25-bed critical access hospital is a modern facility located on a large, well-maintained campus and represents the majority of medical and surgical specialties. The hospital is equipped with four operating rooms, ten obstetrics suites, a six-bed ICU, a ten-bed emergency department, and a 44-bed long-term care facility. Due to its remote location, the hospital has transfer arrangements with multiple facilities within a 20-minute helicopter flight. This high-quality and fiscally-sound facility includes a clinically-sound staff centered on excellent patient care.

EMPLOYMENT ARRANGEMENTS:

PRACTICE DESCRIPTION:

  • The clinic is open on days with flexible hours.
  • Patients are supported off hours by Express Care and the ED, and the provider on call.
  • Very busy, established practice. One is on UPMC Cole's main hospital campus, and another is in our Port Allegany Health Center.
  • We currently have two Physicians, one Certified Nurse Midwife, and a Women's Health Nurse.
  • Outpatient & Inpatient
  • The workload is expected to be between 350-400 office encounters per month
  • Approximately 125 GYN surgeries annually
  • Approximately 220 to 250 deliveries per year (Pediatrician on-call attends these if requested by OB/GYN.)
  • We usually have 0-3 babies in the nursery, rarely any inpatients. Very sick children and infants are usually transferred to a children's hospital.
