Job Description

Locums Quincy, Illinois Cardiothoracic Surgery JobClinical Role

  • Locum job opening

  • Seeking an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon

  • Coverage needed:

    • 12 weekends per month

    • Possible future need for a 1014-day stretch

  • Duties:

    • Take call only (no clinic)

    • Handle emergent cases that present

    • Round on any post-surgical or existing patients

    • Average 3 calls per weekend (CVU aims to reduce unnecessary calls by resolving issues during rounds)

    • Daily census: ~7 patients

  • Referral source: Cardiology

  • Case mix:

    • Primarily managing CABG cases

    • Performing CABG if needed

  • Typical Day:

    • Morning rounding

    • As-needed visits for post-surgical patients with changes in condition

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience

  • Active Illinois medical license

  • EMR: EPIC
