Key Responsibilities - Triage and Diagnosis:Serves as a Medical Officer in the Emergency Room (ER), receiving patients with diverse and complex conditions. Exercises significant independent judgment to accurately diagnose and treat patients presenting with indistinct or overlapping symptoms. - Critical Decision-Making:Makes immediate, critical decisions and initiates treatment for difficult emergency cases, including heart attacks, head injuries, lacerations, seizures, and other life-threatening conditions. - Direct Patient Treatment:Treats the physical condition of the patient (e.g., administers intravenous fluids for heat exhaustion, prescribes medication) or recognizes and refers patients to a specialist for further diagnosis and treatment when necessary. - Surgical Procedures:Performs minor surgery as required, such as incision and drainage (I&D) of abscesses, I&D of hemorrhoids, and suturing lacerations. - Leadership and Supervision:Instructs and supervises other medical personnel in the care and treatment of patients, serving as a Senior Specialist and mentor within the department. - Medication Management:Administers and prescribes appropriate medicine and treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. - Record Keeping:Accurately records all relevant medical data and case history in theComposite Health Care System (CHCS). - Performs other duties as assigned.
