Job Description
This GI Hospitalist locums opportunity in Oklahoma City offers ongoing inpatient procedural and call coverage in a high-acuity hospital setting. The position is ideal for gastroenterologists with strong ERCP experience seeking flexible scheduling while maintaining consistent procedural volume.
Assignment DetailsStart Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Coverage Needed:
12 weeks per month
Preference for providers able to offer 2 weeks per month, though 1 week per month will be considered for the next 912 months
In-House Coverage:
8:00 AM 8:00 PM (12-hour in-house shift)
On-Call Coverage:
8:00 PM 8:00 AM (12 hours)
Total Coverage: 24-hour responsibility per shift day
Average Daily Census:
1520 patients per day
~5 procedures per day
On-Call Volume:
Average calls: 010 (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Average callbacks: 13 overnight per week
Call Response Time: 15 minutes
Phone Consults: 010
Patients Seen While on Call: 1520
Patient Type: Assigned and unassigned
Hospital Bed Size: 239
Hospital Certification: Stroke Certified
Practice Setting: Hospital-based GI service
EMR: Epic
Candidates must meet both of the following:
Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Gastroenterology fellowship with ERCP trainingAND
Current procedural competency, demonstrated by one of the following:
Performance of 200 therapeutic ERCPs, 40 sphincterotomies, and 10 stent placements within the past 12 months
OR completion of GI fellowship training within the past 12 months
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
Active Oklahoma medical license IMLC welcome
Fellowship training in Gastroenterology
