Clinical Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery coverage
• Vaginal deliveries (2330+ deliveries per month)
• C-sections
• ED call coverage for OB/GYN-related issues
• Required Procedures: All OB/GYN (specific procedures TBD)

EMR: CernerSupport Staff: Anesthesiologists, General Surgeons, local OB/GYNs, Family Medicine OB, Pediatrician on call, Respiratory TherapistsReason for Coverage: Cancellation and maternity leaveRequired Credentials (Recruiter Highlights)Licensure

• Active California Medical License Required
• DEA Required (must be active by credentialing)

Board Status

• Board Certified OB/GYN or Board Eligible within 5 years Required

Training Requirements

• Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited OB/GYN residencyAnd
• Performance of at least 100 gynecological surgical procedures within the past two yearsOr
• Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated residency or clinical fellowship

Special Procedures / Privilege Requirements

• Must complete an approved or recognized course, or have acceptable supervised training through residency/fellowship
• Must demonstrate competence to obtain and maintain privileges per departmental policy

Proctoring RequirementsOB Proctoring:

• Concurrent observation of two non-emergency deliveries by different observers, when possible
• If granted C-section privileges: one of the two observed deliveries must be a C-section

GYN Proctoring:

• Concurrent observation of first three cases
• One hysteroscopy
• One operative laparoscopy
• One open laparotomy

Retrospective Review:

• Minimum three-month retrospective chart review
