  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine REQUIRED(Not accepting BE for this leadership role)
Experience / Skills
  • Experienced Emergency Medicine physician with prior leadership, director-level, or administrative experience
  • Proven capability in:
    • Operational management
    • Staffing oversight
    • Budget/financial management
    • Performance improvement
    • Quality & safety initiatives
  • Able to provide direct clinical care in addition to administrative dutiesCandidate Fit
    • Strong communicator, collaborative leadership style
    • Comfortable overseeing a diverse ED team

    Leadership + Clinical ResponsibilitiesLeadership Duties Include:
    • Medical Director + Department Chair oversight
    • Staffing & schedule management
    • Financial management / operational oversight
    • Quality, safety & performance improvement initiatives
    • Collaboration with system leadership & academic partners
      • Support from East Carolina Universitys Brody School of Medicine
      Clinical Duties Include:
      • Direct patient care in the ED
      • Working alongside existing physician and APP teams
      ED & Team Structure
      • 21-bed Emergency Department
      • Annual patient volume: ~23,100 visits/year
      • Team: 6 Emergency Medicine physicians + 9 APPs
      • Telestroke support
