Seeking an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon

Coverage needed:

• 12 weekends per month

• Possible future need for a 1014-day stretch

Duties:

• Take call only (no clinic)

• Handle emergent cases that present

• Round on any post-surgical or existing patients

• Average 3 calls per weekend (CVU aims to reduce unnecessary calls by resolving issues during rounds)

• Daily census: ~7 patients

Referral source: Cardiology

Case mix:

• Primarily managing CABG cases

• Performing CABG if needed

Typical Day:

• Morning rounding

• As-needed visits for post-surgical patients with changes in condition

Minimum 5 years of experience

Active Illinois medical license

EMR: EPIC
