Job Description
Locums Neonatologist OpportunityLocation: Richmond, VirginiaClinical Role:
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Ongoing
- In-house neonatologist coverage
- Shift: 7 AM 7 PM (Newborn Nursery)
- Weekend coverage required
- Model: 6 physician team (2 day shifts, 1 night shift daily)
- No NNP coverage
- Pediatricians handle well babies
- Annual Deliveries: 5,342
- Nursery Average Daily Census: 27.9 (can reach mid-30s)
- Newborn Nursery and NICU Beds: 50
- Daily NBN Responsibility: Patient management and timely discharges
- Total Hospital Beds: 340
- No ECMO or cardiac surgery (except PDA ligation)
- On-site cardiology
- Pediatric surgery support
- Additional support from VCU subspecialists
- Active Virginia medical license (will consider those needing to apply)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
- Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP
