Overview:A high-volume, Level I trauma center in Dayton, Ohio is seeking locum pediatric emergency medicine coverage for August2025. This opportunity is ideal for physicians experienced in supervising APPs and residents within a dynamic hospital environment.

• Coverage needed: August 2025

• Total ED beds: 59

• Annual ED volume: 101,692

• Percent of hospital admissions from ED: 81%

• Admission rate from ED: 12%

• Transfer rate from ED: 0.002%

Staffing & Support:

• 23 ED physicians on staff

• Fast Track available, staffed by both MDs and APPs

• 40% of ED volume managed through Fast Track

• Locum will supervise APPs and residents

Facility Resources:

• EMR: EPIC

• 24/7 access to CT, MRI, X-ray, OR, Anesthesia, and Laboratory

• Onsite certified blood bank (AABB)

• Pathology: Clinical and Anatomical

• Surgical services include Neurology and Orthopedics

• ED team monitors and supervises paramedic/ambulance radio communications

• ED staff do not respond to house codes

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years) in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (ABPEM) - Required

• PALS, ATLS, and BLS certifications - Required

• Active Ohio medical license required (or willingness to obtain)
