Are you a passionate Neuro-Oncologist looking to be a leader in central nervous system cancer care and clinical research? Our well-established institution in the heart of New Orleans seeks a physician to join our Neuroscience department. You'll have the unique opportunity to BE the expert in Neuro-Oncology clinical trials that advance cancer research. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team comprised of specialists from neurology, medical oncology, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, neuropsychology, neuropathology, and palliative medicine.

About the Role:

  • Lead innovative clinical research initiatives, positioning yourself at the forefront of neuro-oncology advancements.
    • Contribute to your curriculum vitae and open numerous doors for future research and development through this one-of-a-kind position 
  • 50% protected time (minimum), allowing for dedicated focus on academic pursuits.
  • Share your knowledge with fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Join an established Neurosciences department that consists of 20 Neurologists and 9 Neurosurgeons, offering a collaborative environment for professional growth and advancement.
  • Candidates will receive an academic appointment in both Neurology and Neurosurgery, further enhancing opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Clinical Trials and Research Opportunities:

We are comparing the efficacy and safety of a combination immunotherapy regimen (ipilimumab and nivolumab) against the established standard treatment, temozolomide. This pivotal trial has the potential to significantly improve patient outcomes and redefine the treatment landscape for this aggressive brain cancer. Leading this clinical trial will significantly contribute to your professional recognition within the Neuro-Oncology field.
