The Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist (FAIS) is a member of the multidisciplinary Family Advocacy Program (FAP) team and works in the following prioritized capacities: - Provide training that includes the definition and dynamics of domestic abuse and child maltreatment for installation leadership and agencies. - Support the New Parent Support Program which provides support to military families during pregnancy; education and supportive services for parents of children from 0-3-years-old. - Provide voluntary prevention counseling to individuals, couples, families, or groups who are at risk for maltreatment. - Develop and implement secondary prevention services; provide community behavioral health psychoeducational classes. - Participate in the FAP maltreatment component to assess families referred for suspected maltreatment and treats individuals, families, and groups whose maltreatment allegation(s) met criteria for maltreatment. - Participate in multidisciplinary teams that respond to High Risk for Violence, Child Sexual Maltreatment, PSB-CY, New Parent Support Program and Clinical Case Consultation. - Other duties as assigned. %MCEPASTEBIN%
