Duties - Serves as a certified Technologist responsible for solving difficult problems, performing complex laboratory procedures, and modifying new methods to improve services. - Conducts a variety of clinical laboratory tests/examinations requested by medical staff for use in clinical diagnosis, patient screening, monitoring patient therapy and status and other authorized purposes. - Assist laboratory supervisor with development of goals and objectives that integrate organizational and medical laboratory objectives. - Aid in the planning and conducting of studies on technical and administrative problems involving personnel manning levels, organizational structure, new technology, program deficiencies, reporting system, and make recommendations based on findings. - Identify technical problems and take corrective actions whenever test systems deviate from the laboratorys established performance specifications. - Complete instrument maintenance including preventative maintenance, calibration, standardization, performance testing, and adjustments. - Maintain records for all instrument maintenance and performance testing. - Provide training appropriate for the type and complexity of the lab services provided. - Assess customer satisfaction to explain organization policies and resolve problems during meetings with key customers and coordinating officials. - Serve as a professional/certified Technologist and Technical Supervisor in departments (such as, but NOT limited to Phlebotomy, Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, or Blood Bank section) of a Medical Treatment Facility(MTF)
