Major Duties: - Performs full range of advanced practice nursing care duties for patients requiring psychiatric/behavioral health services. - Performs psychiatric intakes, evaluate new patients, gather histories, discuss goals with patients, and implement mutually agreed upon solutions. - Prescribes medications, educate patients about risks and benefits, probe for side effects, and monitor progress. - Participates with other medical staff in interpreting and evaluating continuing changes in direct patient care, conflicting requirements, or technological development in the medical field. - Maintain appropriate records using a computerized record keeping and coding system. - Present patient cases and classes for patient care conferences and academic institutions. Performs other duties as assigned.
