Indiana client hiring NPs and PAs to join a Hospitalist practice in Columbus, IN area.

They areseeking coverage for the night shift, typically 7p-7a, and 15 shifts per month.

The Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider is a member of the Hospitalist care team and his/her primary responsibility is the completion of admissions and consultations, coverage of the inpatient service, provision and coordination of medical and ancillary services, and supporting the continuity of care of patients from one level to another.The APP is under the supervision of the Hospitalist physician team. The APP obtains history on complex patients, performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, acts as the supervisor of the code team at night, and provides direct patient care services in the hospital setting.

* Acute Care Nurse PractitionerWill consider PA or FNP with significant hospitalist, acute or critical careexperience
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in clinical service

Work Schedule
* 1-2 month paid on-the-job training

'mini-fellowship' partnered with one of the hospitalist physicians

* Will be working directly with a physician on each night

There would be a rare exception when 2 APPs may be working together withback-up physician from home

*Pending approval by the credentialing committee, the APP would then shift to:

12-hour shifts, 7p-7a
7 shifts per pay period (1 pay period = 14 days)
