A health services network in New York is seeking a licensed Adult Forensic Psychiatrist to join one of their growing inpatient mental health facilities in Orange County.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8am to 4:30pm
• Setting: Inpatient Mental Health
• Patient Population: Adults

Responsibilities:

• Treat all clients with safe and humane care
• Provide medical treatment following all prescribed dictates of professional and licensure codes
• Confers with other Physicians, Direct Care staff, Treatment team, other service providers, and family to obtain additional or clarifying information about onset, past treatment responses, patient history and other factors that may contribute to a person's past and current condition
• Review medical records, including the results of prior examinations and psychiatric evaluations, tests and treatment
• Evaluate the effects of other medical and psychiatric treatments on an individual's condition
• Conduct full psychiatric screenings and evaluations of individuals
• Prepares case histories and summaries of findings; clarifies information in the case history with appropriate individuals
• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
• Conduct follow-up examinations, psychiatric evaluations and tests to determine the benefits of overall treatment program and specific modalities
• Coordinate the activities of other disciplines to ensure that treatment provided to the individual conforms to that prescribed by the psychiatric evaluation.
• Consult with Psychiatrists and other professionals in the community to ensure long-term maintenance of treatment gains
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Board-Certified Adult Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
• Licensed to practice Medicine in New York State
• Valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI)
• Valid Federal Narcotics Number (DEA Number)
• Enrolled in CMS and remain an unconditional participating provider in the Medicare and Medicaid OPRA programs
• Enrolled in NYS Medicaid as a Billing Provider or an Ordering, Referring and Attending Prescriber
• Enrolled in NYS Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing/Prescription Monitoring Program (I-STOP/PMP)
