MAJOR DUTIES: - Provide treatment services including inpatient, consultation liaison services, partial hospitalization, day programs, emergency psychiatric services, tele-psychiatric services, routine/intensive outpatient services. - Develop treatment plans and provide appropriate therapeutic treatment services that may include medication management, various individual therapy modalities, and group therapy. - Monitor treatment through evidence-based medicine and alters course of treatment providing follow-up care for adult patients with mental health and behavioral disorders. - Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatment. - Collaborate with physicians in other medical specialties on cases involving rare, complicated, and multifaceted cases that require advanced treatments. - Provide professional consultation, supervision, and collaborative medical support to other professional staff such as psychologists, advanced practice nurses, social workers, and other healthcare providers. - Serve as member of local Medical Evaluation Boards for assessment and determination of duty. - Conduct training and provides supervision over psychiatric residents, interns, medical students, psychology interns, and other medical and mental health trainees. - Makes recommendations on improvement of work methods and organizational features while serving on committees or working groups that review and establish new treatment guidelines or updates policy for mental health across the service component. - Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) functions, performance improvement programs, risk management programs, and peer review programs. - Serve as member of the professional medical staff and provides advisory and consultative services on various local and national meetings, committees, conferences, and/or boards.
