Inpatient Mental Health facility is seeking a Psychiatrist to join their team.

About the Opportunity:

• Assignment Length: 3 months+
• Shift: 8am-4pm
• Schedule: Part Time
• Setting: Inpatient Adult Mental Health

Responsibilities included but not limited to are:

• Patient population: 18+ for acute care
• Complete daily rounding and timely documentation on assigned patients
• Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary treatment team that includes providers, nursing, therapy and support staff
• APP Supervision
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including interviews, physical exams, and reviewing medical histories to diagnose disorders.
• Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans using medications (psychotropics) and various therapies.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications, evaluating treatment effectiveness.
• Work closely with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other specialists to provide integrated care.
• Manage acute psychiatric crises, ensuring patient safety.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical records.
• Contribute to discharge planning and recommend follow-up care.

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina Medical Doctor (MD) license
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry

Preferred:

• 2 years of psychiatric/mental health experience is preferred
