Job Description

Locums Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Atlantic City, NJLevel II Trauma Center | On-Site Call | NJ License RequiredAssignment Overview
  • Start Date: August 18, 2025
  • Schedule:
    • 24/7 coverage: In-house 7 AM5 PM; call 5 PM7 AM
    • Intermittent coverage: Weekends, call, day shifts
    • Minimum 10 days of call per month (potential for 14)
    • Call to cover two locations
  • Clinic Duties: One half-day/week (approx. 510 indigent patients)
Setting & Practice Details
  • Facility Type: Hospital-based, Level II Trauma Center
  • Average Surgical Cases (Hospital): 35/day
  • Clinic Volume: ~6 patients on clinic day
  • Operating Rooms: 7
  • Other Ortho Surgeons: Private practice only (10)
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics (no peds currently)
  • Annual Trauma Cases: ~700
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Credentialing Timeframe: Approx. 60 days
Clinical Requirements
  • Scope:
    • General Orthopedic Trauma (surgical & non-surgical)
    • Adult and geriatric ortho trauma cases
    • Procedures:
      • Fractures, dislocations, amputations, deformities, bone/joint tumors
      • Total joint replacement (hip)
      • Joint revision or repair (hip)
    • No arthroscopy or percutaneous disc surgery
Licensure & Certification Requirements
  • Board Certified: Required (Orthopedic Surgery)
  • NJ State License: Required (no exceptionsmust be active)
  • BLS: Required
  • Ortho Trauma Surgery Experience: Must be clearly noted (training, fellowship, or equivalent hands-on experience)
