Locums Opportunity GI Hospitalist -Dover, Delaware | IMLC Accepted | Local Candidates Preferred

Step into a high-demand locums role with a well-equipped hospital in the Dover area. This GI hospitalist opportunity features 24-hour inpatient call coverage, manageable volumes, and a focus on consult-driven care. A great fit for experienced gastroenterologists, especially those local to the region or holding IMLC licensure.

Coverage Dates Needed:

• August 26 (7 AM) August 27 (7 AM)

• November 23 (7 AM) November 27 (7 AM)

Position Overview:

• 24-hour inpatient call only (no clinic)

• Responsible for unassigned ED calls, inpatient census, and consults

• No ERCP required

• Epic EMR

• Blocks range from 1 to 4 daysideal for regional or local providers

• Coverage needed due to recent physician departure and scheduling gaps

Facility Info:

• Dover: 317 beds | Milford: 157 beds (credentialing at both sites)

• Dover census: 1025 patients daily

• Daily consults: 512 (average 8)

• Rounding: ~6 hours

• New consults (ED/floor): ~6 hours, may reach up to 10

• ED calls for unassigned patients: 810 daily

• Milford: 46 new consults/day, 23 inpatient procedures/day

Procedures Required:

• EGD

• Sigmoidoscopy

• Colonoscopy

• Hemostasis/bleeding control

• Biopsies

• 24/7 anesthesia support available

Candidate Requirements:

• Board Certified preferred

• BLS preferred

• Active state license or IMLC required

• Must be able to transfer DEA

• Expect to complete two interviews as part of credentialing

• 60+ day credentialing process

• Local candidates preferred due to short block structure
