Job Description

MAJOR DUTIES - Perform occupational physical examinations of various types including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations that may be required. - Coordinates with facility and community resources to provide comprehensive work-related care to employees. - Notify management of exam results and recommends appropriate work restrictions/accommodations. - Interpret ancillary test results for evidence of possible occupational disease or confounding personal health conditions. - Diagnoses and appropriately consults for follow-up evaluations for conditions discovered as a result of the occupational medical examinations. - Evaluates and treats on-the-job illnesses and injuries and stabilizes and transfers those suffering from urgent or potentially life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Assists in self-care transfer activities. - Conducts periodic worksite visits. - Develops and oversees medical surveillance and medical qualification programs. - Serves as member of the professional medical staff and provides advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and boards.
