The institution maintains Level 2 trauma center standards with advanced surgical equipment and support systems necessary for neurosurgical procedures. The facility utilizes EPIC EMR system for integrated patient care coordination and offers advanced practice provider support during weekdays to assist with patient management.

The neurosurgeon will provide 24-hour call coverage for operating room and emergency department neurological surgery cases. Two permanent surgeons require assistance with remaining call coverage as they are contracted for 10 days each monthly but no longer wish to cover additional shifts. The position involves managing Level 2 trauma neurosurgical cases without specialized procedure requirements, responding to emergency consultations, and performing general neurosurgical interventions. Board certification in neurological surgery is mandatory along with Illinois medical license due to extended credentialing timelines.
