  • Brownsville, TX (Rio Grande Valley / Gulf Coast)
Assignment Overview
  • Duration: 1 year
  • Projected Start Date: 04/01/2026
  • Coverage Model: 1 week on / 1 week off
  • Reason for Coverage: Covering a very busy employed OB provider
Schedule and Call Expectations
  • Shift Structure: 24-hour coverage
    • 12 hours restricted (onsite)
    • 12 hours non-restricted
  • Providers should expect to be called in overnight for deliveries
  • Practice Volume: Very busy
  • Deliveries: ~400 per year (averages more than 1 delivery per day)Clinical Responsibilities
    • OB deliveries
    • Scheduled surgeries and C-sections
    • Emergency Department OB coverage
    • Covering both OB and potential surgical volume for employed provider
    Facility Details
    • Full-service, 214-bed acute-care hospital
    • Trauma Level: Level III
    • NICU: Level III
    • Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center
    • EMR: Meditech
    Licensure, Board Status, and Certifications (Required)
    • Active Texas medical license
    • DEA license
    • Board Certified in OB/GYN
    Candidate Profile Notes (Important for Recruiters)
    • This is a high-volume, high-acuity OB hospitalist role

      • Frequent deliveries
