Locums Neonatologist Redding, CaliforniaLevel III NICU | Ongoing Monthly Coverage | Level II Trauma CenterAvailability / ScheduleVentilatory assistance, including ETT CPAP Nasal CPAP >4 hours, NCPAP >6 cm H?O, or FiO? >0.60 Surfactant administration beyond the initial dose Administration of cardiac pressors Ability to manage FiO? >0.60 Management of PaCO? >50 on two ABGs one hour apart Peripheral arterial line and central line placement Chest tube placement Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)/Hyperalimentation Exchange transfusion Care of infants
- Orientation: One business day prior (afternoon)
- January Coverage: January 1120 (ending morning of January 21)
- Ongoing Monthly Need: 11th20th of every month (ending the 21st AM)
- Duties:
- Round once daily in the Level III NICU
- Respond to nursing calls; come onsite as needed for patient condition
- No newborn nursery rounding (handled by Pediatric Hospitalists)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine
- Active State Medical License (CA or ability to obtain)
- BLS, NRP, and DEA (required during credentialing)
- Must be paneled with California Childrens Services (CCS) at time of submission
- Recent experience providing full neonatology (not general pediatrics) services
- NICU Level: Level III
- Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center
- EMR: Cerner Care B
- Support Staff:
- NICU nurses
- Family Practice Residents (neonatologist supervises during nursery rotation)
- Laborists and Pediatric Hospitalists
- No APP support
- Daily Census: 712 NICU patients
- Reason for Coverage: Gaps in coverage and contract rebid
