A hospital in Union County, New Jersey is seeking a Gastroenterologist for inpatient coverage in the Surgery Department. Coverage is needed 7 days per week, 2 weeks per month. The physician will work independently with access to hospitalist and intensivist support.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient GI consultations and procedures
• Daily rounding and scheduled OR block time
• Emergency on-call coverage
• Manage a range of conditions including GI bleeding, pancreatitis, and malignancies
• Procedures may include ERCP (diagnostic & therapeutic), EGD, colonoscopy, PEG, esophageal stenting, and more
• Average patient load: 5-10 per day
• Documentation via Epic EMR

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• ACLS certification required
• Experience with advanced GI procedures preferred
• Ability to work independently in an inpatient setting
• Eligible for emergency or temporary hospital privileges
