Locums Springfield, Massachusetts, OB/GYN Opening

Clinical Role:

- Dates of Coverage: ASAP possible until early 2025 TBD
- Cover 15-18 24-Hour shifts per month
- Weekends needed
- On Call Requirements: 24-hour call
- Call Schedule: to be worked out with the employed team/scheduler
- Practice Setting: OBGYN-Labor and Delivery /Hospital ED and OR Coverage No outpatient or elective surgeries
- Total Number of Beds: 16 beds- 6 labor/10 postpartum
- 4 Physicians in Practice
- Other OB/GYNs will provide coverage during Locums coverage dates
- How Many APPs Provide Coverage: 10
- Onsite Lab
- Onsite Ultrasound
- Office Equipment: Full complement of supplies
- Support Staff: Full complement-RN, CNM's, 24 hour Peds, Anesthesia and surgical PA's available on site
- Percentage of Practice is Low Risk Pregnancy: 100%
- Percentage of Practice is High Risk Pregnancy: 0%
- Percentage of Practice is GYN: 15% --GYN emergency coverage only
- Percentage of Patients are C-Section: 25%
- Average Number of Nursery Admissions Per Day: 2 per day
- Level One Nursery
- EMR: Meditech
- Required Obstetrics Procedures:
- Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.)
- FHR Interpretation NST/CST/FSE, OB ultrasounds
- Performance of Interpretation, OB ultrasounds
- Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability)
- Labor and Delivery Required Procedures:
- Routine Delivery Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section, Complicated Delivery C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc., VBACs, Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations
- Gynecology Required Procedures:
- D&C, Surgical Gynecology Open, Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only-Tubal Ligation
- LOAs, Chromal Tubation, Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic) Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOAs
- Board Certified or Board Eligible- Required
- BLS- Required
- Active MA License- Required
- Local Candidates- Highly Preferred
