As a Physician (Internal Medicine) you will: - Functions as a primary care manager and team member of a collaborative health care team in the delivery of comprehensive health care and health maintenance in a primary care setting. - This includes care of patients with acute episodic or chronic illnesses, emergency care, rehabilitation, preventive health measures, health maintenance, and health education services. - Provide services to include, examination, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of adults, usually 18 years of age or older. - Exercise independent judgment with full responsibility for professional diagnosis, treatment, referral, and disposition of patients. - Take ownership, responsibility for care of assigned panel of patients. - Lead a multi-disciplinary team of individuals who collectively takes responsibility for the ongoing care of patients. - Complete required records pertaining to all medical services provided in accordance with specified procedures and regulations. Properly safeguards all reports and records. - Coordinate and integrates care across all elements of the healthcare system. - Incumbent may function as PRECEPTOR for Internal Medicine trainees, assigned to the clinic or ward(s), during time allocated to Internal Medicine Clinic. This may include direction, integration, coordination and evaluation of training activities for medical students, interns, residents, and in service training of medical officers. - Incumbent is actively involved in the Department's Performance Evaluation and Improvement programs (PE&I). PE&I is a Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requirement for maintaining hospital accreditation.
