Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Clifton Springs, NY. The RN will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adult psychiatric patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting. This position offers an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team caring for individuals experiencing acute mental health conditions including schizophrenia, psychosis, bipolar disorder, depression, and schizoaffective disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for behavioral health patients.
• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to maintain patient safety.
• Manage patients exhibiting anxiety, suicidal behaviors, and assaultive or violent tendencies.
• Implement behavior management strategies and therapeutic interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition.
• Adhere to facility policies regarding patient rights, safety protocols, and use of seclusion when appropriate.

• 20-Bed Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit
• Average Daily Census: 18'20 Patients
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
  • Days: 1:7
  • Nights: 1:10
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
• No On-Call Requirement
• Orientation: 16 Hours

Requirements

Required

• Active New York RN License (Must Be In Hand)
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 1 Year of Behavioral Health RN Experience
• Experience with:
  • Medication Administration
  • Crisis Intervention
  • De-escalation Techniques
  • Managing Assaultive Behavior
  • Inpatient Psychiatric Care

Preferred

• Experience with Epic EMR
• Previous Psychiatric or Behavioral Health Travel Experience

Pay Package

Travelers (W2)

• Weekly Gross Pay: $2,088
• Blended Rate: $58/hr
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,242/week
• Taxable Wages: $846/week
