PA (First Assist) / NP (RNFA) - Ortho Surgery - Night The Night Surgery Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with RNFA assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a Physician Assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards. 36h per week Nocturnist shift (7p-7a) with one weekend night shift per pay period. The evening APPs are responsible for providing floor coverage for all inpatient orthopedic patients, performing new patient consultations both routine on the floors and emergent in the ERs and doing beside procedures like fracture redcutions, aspirations and I&Ds. They also first assist in the OR as needed for emergent add ons. This role requires the ability to travel between both campuses as clinical responsibilities present.
PA (First Assist) / NP (RNFA) - Surgery The Physician Assistant (First Assist) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with RNFA utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The First Assist Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. First Assist experience is required. Weekends as Needed Holiday Work As Needed On-Call Commitment Required Position will support a General Surgery team and provide perioperative coverage across multidisciplinary surgical services. The position would primarily support General Surgery, with coverage and first-assist responsibilities across additional surgical services as needed, including Vascular Surgery, Urology/Gyn, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Orthopedic Surgery. The proposed schedule would be: 4 days per week, 10 hour shifts One 14-hour call shift per week One weekend call per month Additional call opportunities per need and availability
