Job Description
A health services system in Connecticut is seeking a licensed APRN and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their urgent care center in Hartford County. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of adult and pediatric urgent care conditions in a supportive clinical environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday through Sunday (coverage needed for September 2026 and most of October 2026)
- Hours: 8am to 8pm (Mon to Fri); 9am to 5pm (Sat); and, Holidays (9am to 2pm)
- Setting: Urgent Care
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive medical examinations, evaluations, and assessments
- Diagnose and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
- Provide urgent care services for medical, pediatric, orthopedic, and minor surgical conditions
- Order, review, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies, including x-ray services
- Prescribe medications and treatment regimens, and coordinate care with physicians and other members of the healthcare team
Qualifications:
- Current Connecticut APRN or Physician Assistant license
- Appropriate national certification as an APRN/NP or PA
- Current prescribing authority and ability to practice within Connecticut scope-of-practice requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or similar acute-care experience
- Comfort managing minor orthopedic injuries and minor surgical conditions or procedures
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
- Strong commitment to quality, patient safety, and patient-centered care
Desired Skills:
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Familiarity with quality assurance, clinical guideline development, and continuous improvement activities
