Job Description

A leading, nationally recognized academic medical center is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Surgical Critical Care team in Hartford, CT. This night-shift roleoffers the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team caring for complex and critically ill surgical and trauma patients in a state-of-the-art ICU environment.


Position Responsibilities

Working collaboratively with attending physicians, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary care team, the Nurse Practitioner will:


  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
  • Develop and implement medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
  • Manage critically ill ICU patients in accordance with established protocols
  • Perform critical care procedures within scope of practice
  • Participate in ventilator management and resuscitation efforts
  • Coordinate care with consulting services and specialists
  • Identify patient needs and facilitate appropriate referrals
  • Deliver evidence-based care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality

Qualifications Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • NCCPA Certified
  • Eligible for or currently holding unrestricted Connecticut licensure
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Advanced Practice Provider experience in a critical care ICU setting
