(This position is open exclusively to travel candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of the facility)
W2 Pay Rate:
Blended Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $32.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $1,280.00
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $17.13
Hourly Stipend: $14.87
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $685.20
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $594.80
1099 Pay Rate:
Hourly Pay Rate: $34.00
Weekly Pay Rate:$1,360.00
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a safe, accurate, and compassionate manner while ensuring proper specimen labeling, handling, and transportation. This role works closely with patients, nurses, and laboratory staff to support timely diagnostic testing and quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform blood specimen collections using general venipuncture techniques, including syringe and Vacutainer methods.
- Conduct pediatric phlebotomy procedures, including finger sticks and heel sticks.
- Utilize handheld collection devices to obtain specimens as needed.
- Provide proper post-venipuncture site care and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Collect, label, process, and transport specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Work effectively in hospital and outpatient laboratory environments while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards during all collection procedures
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) credential required.
- Strong knowledge of specimen collection, handling, and processing procedures.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
