Duties: - Provide emergency department clinical nursing care to patients of any age group. - Perform triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements. - Assess incoming patients and prioritize patient care based on need, available staffing, and patient acuity. - Provide nursing care to patients presenting for urgent or emergent care using knowledge of professional nursing theories, principles, and procedures. - Observe, monitor and assess patients' conditions. - Teach, onboard and mentor professional and paraprofessional nursing staff. - Interview and take medical histories, to acquire medically necessary information to assess physical and mental status of patient. - Teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury. - Conduct and participate in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of facility, department, or unit-based programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
