Duties - Secures health and medical history from the patient. - Prescribes for and treats a variety of diseases, disorders and injuries. - Provides preoperative and postoperative care. - Evaluates the total health care needs of patients and develops plans to meet patients' needs. - Plans with other professionals and agencies involved in providing medical care services to patients and their family members, and coordinates the care provided. - Participates in all required Performance Improvement activities including periodic medical record peer review and Clinical Activity File review. - Supports medical readiness by performing periodic health assessments, deployment health, assessments, separation physicals, commissioning physicals, and retirement physicals. - Writes discharge orders, completes and dictates discharge summary, and provides patient treatment and follow-up for specialty patient population. - Perform medical screening examinations. - Provide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their family members of treatment and medical care.
