Join our growing team at Henry Community Health! We are looking for a Certified Nurse-Midwife that will provide medical care and treatment to obstetrical patients under the supervision of an OB/GYN Physician. Henry Community Health has a Level 1 Nursery and is designated as a Baby-Friendly Hospital.

Job Details:

• Full-time
• Schedule: 4 to 4.5 day work week
• Call Schedule: will participate in the rotation with OB/GYN backup as needed. 1 day of call per week and 1 weekend of call per month.
• Hospital based and employed
• Must have RN background along with a graduate degree as a Certified Nurse Midwife

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Takes part in initial examination of patient, monitors course of pregnancy, advises on proper health practices, takes tests as appropriate, and reports any complications to the OBGYN Physician.
• CNM will be under the supervision of the physician and will be expected to hold a good working relationship with them.
• Prepares patients and their partners for delivery; trains mothers-to-be in exercise, breathing, and relaxation techniques.
• Attends and reassures patients throughout the course of labor, monitors the fetus condition, administers medications, notifies physician of prolonged labor or complications indicating need for possible surgical intervention.
• Delivers infant and checks mother and child to ensure that they are responding normally.
• During postpartum period, visits mother and child to give additional instruction in feeding and care of the newborn.
• Provides advice on family planning and performs obstetric services.
